
I was pretty young in the 70's. I do remember watching
Captain Kangaroo before school while my Dad ate Freakies cereal. I also remember
watching Electric Company and Dolly Parton's country variety show "Dolly".
The first record I ever owned was one of hers and I still have it. My Dad
gave it to me and from then on, I was a big Dolly Parton fan. My neighbor had a ton
of Star Wars action figures. If you dug up his yard today, you'd probably find some,
along with many other treasures of our youth. We also played with Fisher Price
"Little People" which were wooden. Today they are plastic and bigger than
they used to be. I had a metal Snoopy lunch box. I think lunch boxes are all
plastic now too. We didn't have any avocado green in our house, but our neighbors
had avocado green counter tops and I think their appliances were that color too. We
had a rotary dial telephone and we were on a party line. We had to get up up
to change
the television channel although there wasn't much to choose from. We got ABC, CBS,
and when the weather was good, NBC. Click on a year below to go back in time to the
