HOLD IT…HOLD IT…TIME OUT

A cell phone thief asked police for a “time out” during a foot chase in

the Phillipines. "He was panting and gasping for air when we caught up

with him after a 500 meter sprint." Authorities did not honor his

request, but instead finished the pursuit.

IF YOU SHOULD BE UNABLE TO FULLFILL YOUR DUTIES AS QUEEN

The Potato Queen in Munger, Michigan is upset. Allison Nowicki has been

dumped as the Potato Queen. Why? They say because she didn’t show up for

events. She said it was just one, the St. Pats parade because of school

and they knew it.

PENNY METERS

Colorado State University police couldn’t figure out why all of the

sudden they were getting an increase in pennies in the parking meters.

Especially since the meters took quarters only. Someone had figured out

the meters had a glitch and would accept pennies minted before 1982

instead of the 25 cent charge. The meters are being replaced.

OLDSMOBILE TIME CAPSULE:

Officials from Oklahoma unearthed a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere, buried 50

yrs ago to celebrate the 50 years of Oklahoma's statehood.  The car was

buried 50 yrs ago in a 12 by 20 foot concrete vault, supposedly tough

enough to withstand a nuclear attack.  Unfortunately, it did not

withstand nature---much of the metal had rusted, and mud filled the

car's interior.  Some items were recovered though:  Ten gallons of

gasoline--in case the internal combustion engine had become obsolete by

the year 2007.   A case of beer.   The typical contents of a woman's

handbag, including 14 bobby pins, a bottle of tranquilizers, a lipstick,

a pack of gum, tissues, a pack of cigarettes, matches, and $2.43.
