WINNING ISN'T AFFORDABLE
The town of Burlington, Mass. won Disney's "Mickey's Hometown Parade Contest" but now they had a change of heart and aren't so sure they want Mickey, Goofy and the rest of the gang to bring their parade to town, especially after they realized that crowd estimates were in the 70,000 range. Way too many people for such a small town. Disney offered to pick up $60,000 in parade related costs, but the event would still cost them $40,000. Nope not gonna do it.....

VALET SERVICE
Palo Alto, California is offering valet service for bicyclists. The bike friendly service is hoping the white gloved treatment will  encourage cyclists to ride to their Silicon Valley job instead of taking the train or driving their cars.

60 MINUTES II
That's the working title of the new  60 Minutes news magazine that CBS is putting on the air in response toNBC's highly successful DATELINE. Staffers at 60 Minutes resisted saying it would diminish the Sunday night program. The program will debut early next year.

BUT THERE'S DIRT IN THE COUNTRYSIDE
Frank Sytner and his wife moved to the country for some peace and quiet. Much to their dismay the retired millionaires found that there are (gasp) COWS AND SHEEP in the countryside and the moo and baaa and track mud all over the roads. So they sued their neighbor a farmer who owned the cows and sheep. Case dismissed ! Judge ruled that mud and mooing is what one should expect in the country.

BREAST FACTS
Number of US women having breast implant each year: 122,000 . A 40% increase over the last two years.

LETTERMAN OFF THE AIR
A television braodcaster has pulled Daid Letterman from the lineup on his southern and mid western stations because he couldn't get tickets to the Letterman show for his friends and clients. (we bet he's gonna take his ball home and not play too)

ARRESTED OVER A DOG
Lauar Taylor didn't sterilize Coc the poodle as she agreed to when she adopted the dog. That got her four hours in the County jail in Georgia. She had been warned to provide proof that Coc had been snipped but didn't and was arrested. She doesn't even have Coco anymore. Her husband took the animal when they split. (He's probably fleeing the state as we speak)
